Country of origin:   France         Alcohol content: 12% ABV

This nectarine liqueur is a sweet and fruity aperitif from peaches grown in Provence in the South of France, harvested when perfectly ripe to capture their flavour.

Ripe and juicy nectarine without cloying sweetness—eminently drinkable.

Enjoy over ice with dry sparkling wine. Try adding it to desserts for a burst of fruit.

About Aelred:

Ælred, meaning “spirit of the spring”, is made by Domaine Eyguebelle, located in France’s most beautiful and most productive fruit-growing region. Domaine Eyguebelle traces its roots back to 1137 in the Cistercian monastery of Aiguebelle, nestled between orchards and lavender fields, where monks worked with patience and passion to create fruit and herb liqueurs. In 1996, the operation became a secular business and was renamed Eyguebelle but continued to operate inside the Abbey to preserve its legacy and the partnerships with local producers which guarantee the quality and taste of the fruits and herbs used in its products. It left the Abbey grounds in 2006 for a new site just a few kilometres away in Valaurie, in the Drôme Provençale. The production methods remain unchanged.  Each step is completed with painstaking care, giving their liqueurs the unique taste developed by generations of herbalists.

The description says "this nectarine liqueur is a sweet and fruity aperitif from peaches" - So is it made from peach or nectarine or both? - I don't care, I love this aperitif. Yes, it is sweet but with just enough juicy freshness to avoid "cloying sweetness". On weekdays I add ice, sparkling water and a dash of yuzu for refreshing low-alcohol drink.
